Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, also known as Ari Lennox, a Washington, D.C.-based American singer/songwriter, was signed by the label's first female artist with Dreamville Records by J. Cole. Her first EP, Pho was released on the 21st of October, 2016 and was released by Dreamville Records. Her career began to grow in fame. Shea Butter Baby, her debut album, was released on 7 May 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her tracks on the internet in 2012, when she released her mixtape debut Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in 2013. In 2014, she released new music through the internet including Bound. The 21st of July, 2015 was the day Omen featured her on his album Elephant Eyes on the track Sweat it Out. J. Cole asked her to join him in collaboration for Rihanna's remark. In the following year, her music was played all over Dreamville. On December 28, 2008 it was revealed that Rihanna had been signed to Dreamville Records. She was featured on the collaborative album Revenge of the Dreamers II featuring the track Backseat Cozz. In October 21st, 2016, her debut EP was released under the name Pho. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change track and also opened the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. She also appeared in 2018 in two of her songs with label-mates EarthGang to Nothing but the Best. And Bas On Icarus. Ari Lennox debuted her first single from Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on July 16, 2018. The music video followed by a music video in September. On the 9th of November she dropped two more singles, 40 Shades of Choke as well as Grampa. Two more singles were released on the 11th of November with the titles Pedigree and One. Shea Butter Baby is a track that she recorded with Cole on Creed II's soundtrack on November 16th. The track was released as a standalone single in February 2019 to coincide with the release of her debut album. A music video was released on February 20, 2019 in conjunction with the song. Within one time, it was viewed more than 3,000,000 views. In December 2018 the singer was a part of the From East Atlanta With Love Tour that featured 6LACK.
